In which John Green teaches you about conflict in Israel and Palestine. This conflict is often cast as a long-term beef going back thousands of years, and rooted in a clash between religions. Well, that's not quite true. What is true is that the conflict is immensely complicated, and just about everyone in the world has an opinion about it. John is going to try to get the facts across in under 13 minutes. When the state of Israel was founded in 1948, it was done so with the approval of the United Nations. But today, Israel's enemies routinely challenge the legitimacy of its very existence. Professor Ilan Pappe is Israel's leading "new" or "revisionist" historian. The terms new and revisionist really mean "honest". The title of his latest book, The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine, says everything about his integrity and commitment to the truth of history. As well as his passion for justice. One of very many revelations in Ilan's latest book is in the form of a statement made by David Ben-Gurion, Israel's founding father, in a letter to his son. It was written in 1937. "The Arabs will have to go", Ben-Gurion wrote, "but one needs an opportune moment for making it happen, such as war." Like all Israelis, Ilan was brought up, conditioned, to believe Zionism's version of the history of the making and sustaining of the Arab-Israeli conflict. It wasn't until he went to England to c...
Although Hamas officials announced two weeks ago that the movement decided to cancel the Gaza City celebrations for the 27th anniversary of the movement's founding, it organized a massive military parade Sunday to celebrate the occasion, as top officials delivered speeches. Hundreds of Al-Qassam brigade resistance fighters joined the rally, showing off their military capability, including the M75 rockets and the first hand made Palestinian drone, that was called "Ababil". The first official to address the audience in the televised ceremony was Abu Ubayda, the spokesman of the group's military wing the Al-Qassam Brigades. http://multimedia.telesurtv.net/v/palestine-27th-anniversary-of-hamas-movements-founding/

Israel: Birth of a State This segment of the landmark documentary, The Jewish Americans tells the story of the establishment of the Jewish State and American Jewish efforts to make a homeland in Israel a reality. After World War II, the British found themselves in an increasingly precarious position in Palestine. World opinion favored the establishment of a Jewish state, or at least a sanctuary for the Jewish refugees from the Holocaust, in Palestine. Arab nationalists demanded a cessation of Jewish immigration to the region. Britain tried desperately, and ultimately unsuccessfully, to maintain control of this strategically important territory. In February 1947,Britain announced its intention to cede control of Palestine to the United Nations. The United Nations, in November 1947, pass...

Others were Khadija Abu Ali, Ismael Shammout, Rafiq Hijjar, Nabiha Lutfi, Fuad Zentut, Jean Chamoun and Samir Nimr. Most were refugees, exiled from their homes in Palestine. Or as if the dangers of war were unimportant ? On the beach at Tel Aviv… Here, whatever happens, even just 48 hours after fighting breaks out with Lebanon, (in September 2006, when we filmed there), Tel Aviv proudly presents itself and its thirties architecture as a modern city, refusing to bear the weight of the past, where Jews and Muslims prefer to cohabit in an intelligent manner. And so the Tel Aviv beach is a place for partying, relaxing and flirting, every minute of the day, as if defying the permanent threats that hang over the country. -------------- Watch more travel videos ► http://goo.gl/H...

A 9-day trip with the New Life Alabang family and Amir Tsarfati as our tour guide and bible teacher. An underestimated destination that even I found difficult to truly capture. It was amazing to see the Bible come to life and experience these destinations first hand, most especially the opportunity to witness the renewal of my parents vows and the rest of the married couples who were with us. Here's the long overdue video that I owe the Kumpleto Na Gang! Shalom! Song: Lord, Let Your Glory Fall - Matt Redman
Now I know that every tour probably plays the song "The Holy City" as the bus enters the city. But it does stir a lot of emotions within, and there were lumps in our throats while this music played. You grow up learning about these ancient biblical landmarks but you never believed you would actually see, feel, touch and experience them first-hand - the views from Mount Zion to take in the fabulous views of the old city; Temple Mount; the Holy Sepulchre and the site of Christ's crucifixion; the Wailing Wall; the Mount of Olives and the Garden of Gethsemane. Our guide, Mickey, relayed many interesting tales during the day. One last story before we reached the ship: two Jewish men die and go to heaven. One is a holy rabbi and the other is a bus driver. They say, for the good you do on eart...

HQ. gestalt work on awareness, part 1. hebrew subtitles added. BY FRANKLYN WEPNER SEPTEMBER 1, 2006 HOW I WORK: GESTALT DREAMWORK AS THEATER AND PROPHECY GESTALT DREAM WORK AS PREPARATION FOR PERFORMING Since 1975 I have been using Gestalt work on awareness, dreams and personal relationships as a way to train and direct performers. The basic principle is simple. I use the Gestalt work to peel the onion of layer after layer of social cliches, ego games and unfinished personal business, and then I do the reverse process reconstituting the onion in the form of characters or other artist structures. The existential message of the dream becomes the superobjective or action of the tragedy...
